The Revive Study invites viewers to reflect on their personal relationship with touch. We know that touch triggers the release of oxytocin — the “bonding hormone” — along with dopamine and serotonin, all of which reduce stress and create a natural sense of well-being. Yet despite its profound benefits, touch remains deeply personal, complex, and often fraught.

In a world shaped by the aftermath of a global pandemic and a heightened awareness around boundaries and consent in the era of #MeToo, the desire for — and discomfort with — touch has become increasingly contradictory. This work challenges us to consider: how do we experience touch today, and what does it mean to truly connect?
